We are raising money to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the publication of "Indian Melodies" by Brothertown Indian Thomas Commuck. Here's our GoFundMe link.

His Tune Book of shape-note hymns and anthems memorialized this distinctive sacred singing of the Brothertown people. Funds will be used to hold an all-day shape-note singing event at the Union Cemetery in Brothertown, Wisconsin--the site of the Brothertown tribe's original reservation in Wisconsin. This is a site where many of our honored ancestors are buried and we will serenade them with the hymns they sang over the centuries. The event will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020 and all who contribute will be invited to attend. A special potluck lunch will be held at a Brothertown Indian descendant's house overlooking Lake Winnebago near Union Cemetery. In February 2018 a similar Thomas Commuck shapenote singing event was held at Yale University.
